First one is free? This add, offering two months of free residential electricity and natural gas — because “that’s what neighbours do” in Alberta — makes me really curious about the state of the energy business. Intriguing!

Here’s a thought: What if there was no overlord with the power to gift energy? What if the resource was collectively owned and controlled and we all shared in the benefits?

Is that what this type of strategy is trying to protect against? Just a little pre-Christmas mulling!
